A question for those that already own shirts from threadless!

I'd like to buy this shirt, but I'm not so familiar with American Apparel sizing & I really don't enjoy the babydoll look for girl's shirts.

The girl in the main photo of the product page has got the right idea, so for a small/average sized girl (35"-26"-36"ish?) what size of shirt would provide that fit?

thanks lots if anyone's got suggestions.

Get a size smaller then you'd usually get. shirts are bigger now. I use to get size small here, which was still too big, but I got my new shirts today and they're like... 2 sizes to big.

Then I washed it in extra cold water and dried it with high heat a couple times... and it's stil a bit big. Actually, still alot big.

no, get a size bigger. shirts shrink.

really? that's odd. It was a small girl's and not a small guy's, I guess?

(I have one 'small' american apparel shirt that's three or four years old, barely ever worn, and yet it's too wide and ends at my navel. awful.)

She just wants to say opposite of me because I'm an emo 13-year-old. REally really really emo!

Believe me. The new shirts they print on are really really big. I suppose you could just get the size you normally wear in other clothes. Just don't get a size bigger, there's no point. They don't shrink fast. And you don't grow fast.

I would know, wouldn't I ambient? I've yet to grow up.

Well... I'm not sure then. I'm too small for small, so don't listen to me. Nothing I say will matter unless you're too small for small too.

she admits it.

and technically, i am right. most people get a size bigger for fear of shrinkage.

When was the last time you bought a shirt? Because these new shirts are wayyyyy bigger then the others.

I love how the medium i just got fits... it's not too short (which i hate), but if you have boobs, it would be too small in that area because i have none and it fits well. I don't plan on drying my medium in the dryer though. I also got a large shirt too... which is fine but i'll probably try to shrink that one. i would describe myself as average sized. (that might not help but i will have a picture up soon)

i agree with iheartgus. i had a medium AA jersey tee and it fit perfectly, as soon i washed/dried it shrunk like crazy. now the boob area is pretty tight. so unless you dont put shirts in the dryer, i reccommend sizing up.

Answerthatandstayfashionable, they aren't printing on the new shirts yet.

To answer your question, many girls, myself included, order a size up from other shirt brands. And yes, they shrink like nobody's business.

o.k. retardos....i have the exact measurments and I get a medium (girl.) however, it shrinks to a very snug fit. I'm considering buying a large from now on.
