ltdan needs help badly

ok so I've learned how to turn a sketch into a multi-layered, colored, submission, but I do not have a steady hand, as you can see in my critique, Hawaiian unshaved ice. Can anyone teach me how to even out my lines to make the straight ones straight and the round ones smooth?

are you familiar with the pen tool? that makes vectored lines so you can get the exact curve you need. google pen tool tutorial or i think www.photoshopcafe.com

I've tried using the pen tool, from what I learned, it makes filled shapes, not lines. I'm probably justn not doing it right

make sure there is no fill turned on. in photoshop it makes the shape in the paths area, and you can choose to either fill the area or stroke along the line. like I said, it helps a lot to do a tutorial of it to get down the finer points of the anchors, etc.

ok so i'd have to just trace over my original sketch, instead of working directly with it?

yea, that converts it into a much more workable file. have you seen the tutorial here on threadless for using hand drawn images? i'll post a link to it here.

yeah i've been referred to that before. It kind of assumes that I am a good artist on paper. I've seen people that have scans with super professional lines, but I'll give the pen tool a try

yea, thats ur best bet, and its super useful if you're planning on doing any graphic design, etc. in the real world. aiight, im out!
