I love Sam Adams, its one of my favourite brands in the world, unfortunately its a little hard to come by in the UK but I live in London now so there must be a few places that import beer.

Its the christmas period and Sam Adams has just released its holiday beers, Old Fezziwig, holiday Porter, Winter Lager and Chocolate Bock apparently they sell a multipack but I would settle for any of them.

Does anyone have any idea where I'd find them?

Also whats your favourite beer, what should I try drinking?

haha, talking about sam adams being imported.

I like Dogfish Head, if you get it over there. I am a Dogfish Head fanboy.

I love Dogfish Head, Steve of the Great variety... and Sam Adams, Stubby43. Dear the latter, am I able to send you beer from New Jersey? (uncertain of the wacky alcohol laws) If so, I will.

All I know is that Heineken etc is not imported and is just made locally under licence so when Dutch people drink it here they will try and tell you how it tastes different because we have different water.

And/or Australians who won't shut up about their trip to Europe and will also go on and on about Guiness.

Robin, if you could that would be amazing but its totally something I'm going to need to research to see if its actually possible, the other problem is it could get very expensive very fast and I'm kind of broke but thanks for the offer.

Steve I know, but even when I was living in Canada out in the prairies the only place that had the regular kind was an import bar but I'll have to try Dogfish Head.

SJ, yeah I think that happens a lot, both the Heineken and the Guiness. I think its interesting how different drinks are precieved in different countries. Heineken in canada was the shit because it came in a special bottle and it was expensive, but over here its so common almost every pub has it on tap and its pretty cheap as for guiness, I dont really know anyone that actually drinks it other than on paddy's day.

Stella Artois tends to be seen as a classy drink abroad but here its nickname is wife beater.

On the other side of the table though fosters is really popular over here and its marketed as being very australian even though I'm not even sure if its actually brewed in australia.

I don't drink booze any more but when I did, Guinness foreign extra aka nigerian guinness was the absolute best. 7.5% alcohol, 100% tasty.

I love Sam Adams Cream Stout but we don't get that here anymore. The Winter Lager is available, I need to try that.

I just had a Sam Adams winter lager about an hour ago, but I live in Texas. Actually my favorite beer in the world is from England, Samuel smith tadcaster.

It probably isn't, because the Fosters we have is cheap and nasty and nobody drinks it, but I've heard rumours that Fosters overseas is actually the Crown Lager recipe instead.

The Fosters we have is cheap and nasty too. It's only popular here because it's cheap.

After I posted it I did a bit of research and fosters is australian on a technicality, their not allowed to call it an australian beer but can call it an australian brand.

Definitely this beer is the best for me.... but by careful if you taste it, they have 11º and for a beer is a lot.

I think they got bought out by some overseas company a month or so ago, so maybe they can't even do that in the future, unless it's about where the brand originated rather than a case of ownership.
