I dont know what to think right now, I'm just trying to take it all in, but I feel like I'm going to explode.

So I applied for a media training camp in Edinburgh put on by the Guardian international TV festival that lasts for 4 days, is completely free and gives you a master class with the most important people in the british tv industry.

The head of BBC children is going to be there, top stand up comedians like Al Murray and we get to go to a talk by Dr. Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman of Google.

I cant believe I got this, I mean seriously 3500 people applied and there were only 65 places!

So happy right now.

I'm going to get a fake tan and start signing autographs, doesnt matter if they dont want them, I'll give them it anyway then ask for £5.

Seriously though if I impress them at this training camp theres a chance I can get onto the next stage which is a 6 month paid internship, theres only 5 places but just getting this far is amazing.

I dont really know, I'm not that interested in production dont get me wrong I enjoy it but I'm more interested in being in the office, more things like story development.

I'm really interested in transmedia story telling, the short version is that producers create a tv program then distribute content on other websites such as youtube, or social networking sites (e.g their characters will have twitter profiles) and all of this ties in directly to the programs plot, it'll expand the narrative or create a massive game for fans to explore.

The idea is to create a variety of levels that fans can experience the story either as a casual fan or a hardcore fan boy.

But I'm also interested in online content, for example the BBC is starting to commission content thats only going to be released on the iplayer, I'm also interested in creating content designed for smart phones and looking at how people actually watch content online and how its changing, right now shortform content wins every time because people watch videos in between visiting different websites but internet ready tv's and faster broadband connections are starting to change that.

Its a bit difficult because I dont really have a specific job title and the area's I'm interested in are really just starting to emerge.

Oh and I'm also interested in the state of tv advertising and online advertising, were in an odd situation especially in the UK because on the one hand were slowly moving to internet tv, using closed networks like the iplayer and 4 on demand (think hulu) but tv advertising is still extremely profitable but online ad spend is no where near close to competing.

The problem with the BBC being a non profit organisation is it can give away all of its content for free because it has a source of income thats going to be there no matter how badly they preform.

The other networks dont have that luxury but they cant charge for content because the iplayer has created an environment where audience expects content for free and find advertising annoying.

The catch up services are also really bad because they've completely destroyed the home entertainment market, why buy a dvd when I can watch the show online for free?

Thats the type of thing I'm interested in.

Thank you, I'll be honest in saying that the past year and a half my confidence took a real blow because I really struggled to find work, I got a part time job but I've failed to find anything career related so this came at the right time.

That and my websites started to really take off after we got promoted by them, its pretty insane right now!
