Dont get me wrong, I'm not old and I know it but I think a lot of us are starting to have or have had moments when other people have made you feel like your not young anymore.

The first time it happened to me was last year when I came to pick my mum up from work, she works in a primary school (kindergarten), kids started asking my Mum who that 'man' was and were amazed I was her son.

More recently its when I serve alcohol to the kids born in 1993 who have just turned 18.

When I was 19 my back almost gave out, which was really weird and depressing and made me feel old. I don't feel old as much as I feel like there are a lot of little retarded people running around. I think the age group I am in right now is just about the best one. People don't look at me like I'm going to break shit when I go into a fancy store, but I'm still relatively cute and wrinkle-free and old guys still call me "sweetheart."

Also, in 2003, when I realized Robin Hood, Men in Tights was a decade old, it freaked me out. Now it's nearly 20 years old and I somehow care less. HAHA.

I think there's this hump in your very late teens and early 20s where you feel old and then you get into your late 20s and you actually feel less old in a way. Cause you remember your thinking a few years prior and going "gosh, if only I WAS 22 years old!" and realize that you're still in your 20s and it's not so bad. And you have more friends in their 30s and 40s and you laugh at them.

One of my better friends is my mom's age and sometimes I tease him about it, but not too much cause he gets all sad.

One last thought and I'll shut up. I stopped feeling old when I stopped feeling like a kid or like I was still a teenager. There's a psychological difference between feeling basically like an overaged teenager and feeling like a young adult. And I don't mean young adult in the "that section in the library" sense.

On Mother's Day, I was helping kids make cookie cakes for their moms, and there was an old man and a young girl, and he asked how long I'd be decorating cakes, I said seven and a half years, they were both shocked. Apparently, they both thought I was 20, at the oldest.

So, do I feel old sometimes? Yep. But I don't look it, and that's neat.

one thing that makes me feel kinda old (even though I'm not old at all really) is that i tend to get less excited about stuff, i get flashbacks of when I was in my teens and i would get so hyped up over going to gigs, discovering new music and whatever..

Many times.

But I think the scariest one for vain me is: I've been lucky to have had a younger-than-my-age-looking face but lately I'm starting to see the age and I'm beginning to think a facelift someday won't be such a bad idea.

I always thought when I was younger that I'd grow old gracefully, but now I've realized I'm probably going to fight it every inch of the way, lol
