Did you know that one smile releases the same amount of chemical energy as 2000 chocolate bars?

Did you know that one smile gives out the same feeling as getting $25,000?

Children smile on average 400 times a day.

that means the average child feels like they've won $10000000 each day.

Did you know that the wider your smile the longer your likely to live? or that it also predicts how successful your going to be in life?

That it also makes you healthier (by reducing stress hormones).

Smile more.

This isn't so much a fact more something I find hilarious on the grounds of it sheer stupidity and stubbornness but the 'Pig war' is down right funny.

The Pig War began on June 15, 1859, when an American settler named Lyman Cutlar shot and killed a trespassing pig belonging to Englishman Charles Griffin of the Hudson Bay Company. "It was eating my potatoes," said Cutlar, who had already warned Griffin to keep his pig out his potato patch. "It is up to you to keep your potatoes out of my pig," was Griffin's reply.

The problem was the farmers land was smack in the middle of San Juan Islands that both the Americans and Brits claimed.

When British authorities threatened to arrest pig-killer Cutlar, his fellow Americans called for U.S. military protection -- which they got in the form of the 9th Infantry.

The Brits responded by dispatching three warships under the command of Capt. Geoffrey Hornby. By August 10, American forces numbered 461; British forces numbered 2,140 with five warships.

Fortunately cooler heads prevailed with both sides refusing to start a war over a pig but it took 12 years to end the conflict as they tried to clearly define who exactly owned the islands. Eventually the Germans stepped in and decided that the islands were american property.

It seems like it'd be a difficult task to quantify the feeling of receiving $25,000

The word "hooker", as in a prostitute, came about during the Civil War. Brigadier General something Hooker allowed prostitutes to trail/follow the men under his command during the war and so these women became known as "Hooker's women" and finally just 'hookers".

My source is the video emedded below from a talk from ted.com you have to be a big deal to talk there so the facts are more than likely true, although he doesnt say what study they came from.

Mya I love the hooker fact.

did you know American children spend 7.5 hours a day absorbing and creating media (as much as they spend at school) but they multi task across screens to cram 11 hours of content into that 7.5 hours.

That hooker fact is actually untrue. The word hooker is found at least in documents at least 15 years before the Joseph Hooker became a public figure.

Facts, if not clearly delimited, can be easily disputed.

I smile a lot and I'm fat, therefore smiling makes you fat. Fact.

The largest number of children born to one woman is recorded at 69. From 1725-1765, a Russian peasant woman gave birth to 16 sets of twins, 7 sets of triplets, and 4 sets of quadruplets.
