So the short version is I'm applying for a training program in my dream career (transmedia story telling/multiplatform programming) and part of the application is to write a 500 word essay on a show that you are or would like to develop and how you'd distribute it.

I have great idea's for distrubition and I think my story idea atleast potential but my pitch for the plot comes in at 200 words, which I could really do using on the distrubution.

Can you guys help me trim down the pitch so its still funny, gets the point across but is shorter.

If I could cut it down to 100 words that would be awesome, 150 wouldnt be too shabby either.

The Utha Brothers is a sitcom about three very Canadian brothers Tim Horton Utha, Big Bear Utha and Tommy Douglas Utha

Hailing from the great white north, the Utha Brothers come from a long line of lumberjacks, working in the forests of Northern British Columbia, they work, they drink and they play music in their family band, the Utha Brothers.

Whilst Tim and Big are happy with their lives, Tommy Douglas has always dreamt of going to England, becoming a rock star (like his heros) and becoming rich and famous. One night, after a heavy round of drinking a fight errupts between Big and Tommy Douglas erupts after Tommy reveals that he's bought ticket to England and wants Big and Tim to come with him.

After fighting, Tommy leaves still angry and picks a fight with a bear, according to Big and Tim he won but fell off a cliff whilst celebrating.

Feeling immense guilt over the death of Tommy, the surviving Uthas decide to go to England and try and make it as a band as the ultimate tribute to their brother.

They Pick Manchester because its in the Northwest of England, a place they decide will probably be like the Northwest territories.

The story will mainly focus on the brothers extreme culture shock and the issues and problems modern bands face.

Any help you guys can give me at all would be so much appricated, if I get this job its going to change my life for the better and I'm stressing because the deadlines on the 20th september, which doesnt sound too bad but because I'm on holiday I wont have time/want to work on it.

I love you guys.

Also is it good? I'm not much of a writer.

p.s my friends were the inspiration for this show idea, mine original idea was a rip off of scott pilgrim.

I love this kind of creative writing stuff. I don't have much experience except an appreciation for the synopsis on the back of DVD's so I gave it a try, I think it's 156 words:

Hailing from the great white north, three very Canadian brothers Tim Horton Utha, Big Bear Utha and Tommy Douglas Utha come from a long line of lumberjacks. Their hobbies include chopping down trees, getting drunk, and playing music.

Whilst Tim and Big are happy with their lives, Tommy Douglas has always dreamt of touring and becoming a rock star. One night, after a heavy round of drinking a fight erupts after Tommy reveals that he's bought a ticket to England.

Due to events involving a bear, a cliff, and a bottle of whiskey, Tommy’s dreams come to an abrupt end; until his surviving brothers decide to pack up for England and form a tribute band.

They head to Manchester assuming it will be like the Northwest territories, just with different accents. They soon find it's very, very different. Despite the obstacles, Tim and Big must literally band together if they’re going to make Tommy’s dream happen.

I cut it down to 184 words. I don't know if I can alter anything else.

Aww thanks, I'm really glad you like it. Sounds like you've put a lot of thought into this, if it was a real show, I'd totally watch it. Good luck with your application!
