So I've been into longboarding since 2007, my good friend Mike Maekelburger got me into it when I was on an exchange program in Canada, I love it but I was never really any good at it.

On the other hand I love filming it, I havent had a lot of oppertunities (ok non) to film longboarding in the UK so I've found myself watching longboarding films on youtube and vimeo.

There are a lot of good ones out there but by the best I've seen is long treks because it isnt just about longboarding.

Adam Colton, Paul Kent, and Aaron Enevoldsen begin their 1500mile journey from Lima, Peru to skate across one of the driest deserts in the world, all the way to the highest-altitude city in the world Potosi, Bolivia.

Its an insane on going journey and one of the best factual web series in the world, youtube is largely dominated by comedy acts and make up tutorials so this show really stands out in its quality and ambition.

You need to watch this show.

Man, that's insane. I wish I'd gotten more into longboarding. I haven't been on mine in years, and I really suck at it. Once I hit some speed wobbles, I freak out and bail.

I know right? well they should have crazy indurance, their sponsored as long distance longboarders.

I really, want to get into lpongboarding properly, I loved it whilst I was out in canada but the UK isnt exactly suited for longboarding, especially the old cities where cobbled stones are common.

I'm never going to be amazing at it, as soon as I hit speed wobbles I do exactly the same as you Alvin, I bail.

My friends are a lot better.

this is them bombing down a 24 km high way:

Kananaskis Longboard from Mike Maekelburger on Vimeo.

I could never do that, I'm more into filming/photography.

Having skateboarded for about 4 years both street and skateparks and having a scrub board for about year, long boarding seems to be the only avenue I havent really tried, saying that it looks pretty fun but as you said there really isnt anywhere in the uk where this is gonna be viable or safe, best we managed was goign luge style on a regular skateboard however thats how I broke my leg so :s

I interpreted the title as a long surf board, and thought it very odd given Bolivia's landlocked nature.

What a crazy trek!

Randy, its a lot of fun and it is possible to do it, its just you tend to have to be more relaxed about it rather than bombing down hills.

Its a really relaxing ride to get from A to B, probably a lot less tireing than skateboarding.

We also used to get our boards, go downtown and off into multi story car parks late at night, you build up a lot of speed so you need to do slide stops, or else you're foot breaking all the way down but its fun as hell.

Sam, yeah I've found when I've looked online for longboarding related stuff it tends to turn up surfboards, which is cool, just not what I'm into.
