Also what did you guys think of scott pilgrims finest hour?

I enjoyed it, though it was way darker than the previous books and it kind of felt like an episode of dragon ball z in the sense that pretty much the entire book is taken up by the fight.

This is going to be a good week.

Advanced showings of Scott Pilgrim VS the world are this friday!

I enjoyed the last book. It really felt like a culmination of all the past books. Almost every character, major or otherwise, steal their scenes. It's the funniest of the volumes, and I think it was wise to keep the last book the funniest to better respect the tone of the series, instead of following the serious reality of the 5th book (maybe my favorite one.) Some things I didn't expect, but overall it's an ending I'm satisfied with.

Totally agree, even the really minor characters get their moment in the sun, even if its for only a fraction of a second.

Like young Neil who gets upgraded to just Neil.

I'm really excited to find out how the film ends because its supposed to be completely different.

I watched an interview with Bryan Lee O'malley who basically said, ok the films coming out soon so I have to totally out do the film.

So I've no idea which versions going to be better.

I feel like I'll love them both for different reasons.

The last time I was this excited about a film was the new star trek and I was equally as worried that it was going to turn out to be lousy but was awesome.

So heres hoping Pilgrim is the same.

I'm really hoping for it. And from the trailers and from what I've heard, it's really good. I haven't heard any narrative complaints, which is what I was most worried about.

I'm less worried about narrative issues in the sense that they basically wrote the film together, the film got picked up around book 2 so they were asking O'malley what was going to happen in book six and he often had no idea.

So they'd make suggestions and he'd take that idea, or he'd suggest stuff to the writers for them film.

I guess the two projects sort of evolved togther.

It's not so much that aspect that I'm worried about. It's that 7 boss fights is a lot for a 2 hour film.

Ok yeah, that scares the hell out of me, I mean the main reason the dragon ball movie sucked was simple they put 7 dragon balls into one movie instead of being brave enough to make two or even three movies, they could of spent their budget a lot better and got better actors.

Hopefully it works for pilgrim.

It was really fast-paced and the end battle went a wee bit too long for me, but overall, I loved it. It ended exactly the way it should have. Perfect.

And I'm excited for Tuesday. Free screening.

From early reviews I've read/heard, the movie is really fast-paced and wastes no time in the beginning. You hit the ground running.

Scott asking for casual sex is about on par with how I would ask for casual sex.

You're going to a free screening?!? how'd that happen? are the cast going to be there?

Mature Knives is awesome/kind of odd.

I still dont know how I feel about the ending, it worked but I loved the books when it was light hearted but then I dont think a light hearted ending would have worked.

There was this midnight release "party" (the party consisted of a bunch of hip geeks playing Guitar Hero outside of this comic book store) for Finest Hour, and at the party, they had a sign-up sheet that basically assured you an invitation to a free screening.

Almost positive the cast won't be there. I'm not expecting anything like the screening they had at Comic-Con. Full cast and a mini concert by Metric right after the screening. Awesome.
