I'm kind of confused right now, I know I want to move to canada but I dont think thats everything I want to do, i also want a career.

I'm going through my options and all thats happened is I've ended up confused.

How did you decide what to do?

Find something you love. It's going to be hard work, but if you truly love it, you'll work towards it and be patient. It wont happen over night. It takes time and money to build yourself up to the place you want to be.

I love art. So I design band merch and book covers for a living.

erm, well, I think you and I are kind of in a similar boat because pretty much everything I've done since moving here from Peru has been working towards going back.
Right now I'm working on my BFA, and then after that I can do a one-year-program at another nearby university to become an art/English teacher. Hopefully then I can find a job in an international school in South America (in Peru, dare I hope?)
So I kind of decided what's important to me (living abroad, teaching) and I'm doing what I can to reconcile those things.

Move to Canada. If that doesn't make you happy try whatever is next on your list. Never stop moving forward. Good luck.

find something you're passionate about, and do whatever it takes to get a job in that field!

I knew I wanted to be a gallery assistant at the gallery where I now work, but they weren't hiring when I graduated, so I worked full time as a nanny and interned there on Saturdays. it took me 3 months for a job offer but I finally got one! and it was worth it!

if canada is where you want to be you'll make it happen!

This is all good advice.

I've been out of school for a year but I've kind of been lost, I got a job at a bookstore then a super market, quit my job at the bookstore and worked at a college doing a job that I really enjoyed but it was only materinty leave, there werent enough hours and the pay wasnt enough.

Now my only job is the super market.

I should of been looking for real jobs through out that period but I wasnt and I think thats mainly because I didnt know what jobs I wanted.

I got my degree in film and tv but I dont want to work in the established media, I can do it and it can be fun but why hold onto the old when were in a revolution?

The problem is the jobs and the companies I want to work for dont really exist yet and the ones that do are in America.

I want to strike out on my own and build something new but the other problem is I dont have the skills to do it.

I'm thinking about going back to school and getting a masters, theres a school near by doing a degree program in web computing, it teaches you how to do things like make iphone apps, really cutting edge stuff.

I'm serriously considering applying.

The problem with big decisions is you get so caught up in the negative "what-ifs" and worrying about the future you forget that nothing turns out how you expect anyway, just go with what sounds the most exciting or will teach you the most. Then you can worry about logistics

I went to college and uni mainly cos I was clueless and a bit of a waster back then - I couldn't think of anything better to do and reckon I wasted a good 5 years of my life.

Since then I haven't really ever considered my future. I've just concentrated on enjoying myself in the present and so far it's worked out great and led to some pretty exciting and life changing experiences.

I'll probably die penniless but I'll deal with that when I have to I guess.
