Well some of them, a 3rd of brits want to imigrate over the next 30 years...

Website Intotheblue.co.uk asked 1,682 people what their plans were for this decade. And a shocking 34% said their main priority was to leave the country.

A massive 86% of those dreaming of a move abroad said they wanted to move to a warmer climate. Some 61% said it was because they disliked the way the country was run.

Just 18% said the cost of living was too high 16% blamed increased rates of immigration.

and I guess thats daily star readers for you.

I'm not sure if the southern coasts of Spain or Italy can handle anymore British ex-pats haha. Last time I was in Italy, there were so many "Brits" who lived there. Crazy.

16% blamed increased rates of immigration.

..and plan adding to that "problem" by becoming immigrants theirselves?

Oh well, just as long as they learn to speak the local lingo.

I'm grateful that I didn't go to London as I planned a few months ago. I was intending on catching a few footy matches so I would've been HEATED if I flew over the pond for nothing (well, I still have friends to see, etc.)

I'd quite like to leave the country. Though that's because I'd like to travel and see other peoples' culture, I couldn't see myself living abroad for good.
stubby43

Its a little hypocritical to say that theres too much immigration going into the UK then plan to 'solve' that problem by becomeing an imigrant themselves.
stubby43
stubby43 on Jan 13 '10 at 4:47am
p.s The Brit's you see on holiday in spain are probably the worst of the worst Brits.

I want to live abroad but its because I loved the Canadian life style, made good friends and I love the snow.
digsy
   digsy on Jan 13 '10 at 4:53am
I'd like to leave the UK for the first three reasons (not the immigration one, really that doesn't bother me) but then I'm not from here in the first place so I'd probably be solving the problem for that last 16% if I just went home again!

First of all Daily Mail Headline Generator - Funniest thing ever. I love the fact that the Daily Mail and express are slowly becoming a parody of themselves.

Secondly, Its a little hypocritical to say that theres too much immigration going into the UK then plan to 'solve' that problem by becomeing an imigrant themselves. Never a truer word said stubby. Unfortunately people with those sort of views don't have that sort of insight.

Thirdly - I understand why alot of people want to leave - weather being chiefly among them, apparently 1 in 10 people born in the U.K no longer do. I don't have a problem with immigration / Emmigration - I just hope people find happiness when they do. There's always the danger of " The grass is always greener " syndrome.

I'm serriously pissed off with the country side alliance right now, we were supposed to be building a wind farm in cheshire but they managed to argue that it would spoil the view so the plans have been scrapped.

I dont care about a bloody view, its going to be a damn sight worse when we fuck up the planet.

Also I'm pretty sure this is the view they were complaining it would spoil:

The bizarrest thing coming out of the UK recently, to me, is the fact that you need to have a "verified non-paedo license" to transport a kid or do a school run.
digsy
   digsy on Jan 13 '10 at 5:37am
depending on the brit and the place, some brits on holiday are pretty hellish. they go overseas to foreign countries on holiday and when they get there they demand pubs to watch football in and english breakfasts - basically turn their holidays into little mini britains. and lets not start on the stag and hens' do's and binge drinking.

It's pretty much a rite of passage for NZ people to go on an OE at some point in their lives... since we're so far away from everywhere, I guess. Also, our pay isn't all that high. It's very easy to go to Australia and earn heaps more for the same job.

I know I'd have a blast in NZ. The only obstacle of course are the flight expenses. It costs a fortune. As I'm still at college, I can't spend that much money just yet.

id buy New Zealand if i were Richard Branson

never been to Britain- i have this notion in my head that it's always frigging cold and wet like a fish straight out of the fridge... and gloomy to boot, ugh- if it's true i can see why those brits wanna be elsewhere but feel free to dispel my notion

No offense intended mullmuggins, really :/

I can't seem to respond favourably with this notion so deeply-entrenched in my head

And to think, Spam, that one can develop such an accurate notion merely from watching films (and yeah, all those Nigella Lawson and Jamie Oliver cooking shows, too)!

But what is there that one can't get from NZ, or Oz, or even in the US of A?

Aside from the excellent free healthcare, the pubs, and the rather interesting accent, if anyone can name just three, please?
