So for the next two days the Perseid meteor shower will be at its height with as many as 80 shooting stars passing through the sky an hour.
Anyone else going to watch it? I'm planning on a drive out to the country to check it out (not expecting to see it around here at all), should be fun. In the UK, the best times to see the Perseids are likely to be on the morning of 12 August before dawn and from late evening on the 12th through to the early hours of the 13 August. bbc According to the LA times the best time to watch them for all of you in america land between 9 and 11 p.m. PDT, and before dawn on Wednesday morning. Also I was wondering if anyone got any tips on the best way to take a photo of the event? I have an slr with a tripod and I'm thinking its probably going to have to be a long expouser but I dont have a remote for the camera so I'll have to hold down the bolt mode.
