Hey everyone hows it going?

So I got asked to do a presentation about going to university for my old college (doing it may help me get a job) and I think I'm going to be doing the presentation on studying in another country.

I've never liked university in the UK, in fact at some points I've down right hated it but the two semesters I studied in Canada, well they were amoungst the best months of my life.

I'd of been better off studying in Canada from the get go for the full four years but no one told me I could.

This presentation is my chance to tell people that they can do it and it'll make immigrating to another country alot easier.

It would be a really huge help if you could tell me where you guys went to school and how much it costed you to do it (dont have to put this I could probably look it up).

Americans, I'm really looking for colleges that are cheap we get given very little in funding so I'd imagine the expensive schools would exclude most people.

Thanks.

at mcgill university or concordia university in montreal it costs about 3000 canadian dollars per year if you're taking 5 courses per semester. in quebec, undergraduate degrees can be obtained in 3 years so it costs about 9000$ total. (this is for quebec residents, if you're from out of province or international it would cost you a lot more).

Thanks republic, yeah i've looked at canadian universities, the rule of thumb seems to be look at the price they state then double it but with the going exchange rate its not actually that bad.

Malcolm, whats your major?

Emily, no I just cant spell.

SuperRyan, I dont really know the differences I have friends who went to state universities like SUNY Postdam or Keane state.

If you're looking for a college that's cheap in the US, try and find a community college. They are less expensive and usually just as good as more expensive schools.

Going to America for the first time was an amazing experience because it was worlds apart from where I'm from, its alot easier to be excited about a country when its new and fresh.

Ill be a senior @ Ringling in the fall.

Tuition price goes up every year. (13K+ per semester)

For most degrees, I think community college is the route to go for the first 2-3 years. Then finish up your degree, and the "important" classes at a big name university, and your diploma will have that name on it instead of a small community college.

At the community college near-by, a semester is under $2k (full-time, 4-5 classes)... very inexpensive.

I'm not actually going to go to school in the states, I'm doing a presentation for a group of 16/17 year olds who will be applying to schools soon.

The states that would probably have the most appeal would be east coast states like New hampshire, Masacutest (Sorry I butchered the spelling), New york and then west coast like Califorina.

I went to catholic u for a year. that one gets a big THUMBS DOWN from me.

then I went to Howard Community College for like a year and a half and that was alright I guess but it's not like a real college. cheap though.

now I go to Maryland Institute College of Art and the tuitiion is bonkers expensive and the administration is borderline retarded but I do like it bunch.

I go to the University of Texas in Austin and I pay more or less $16k a year, but tuition is dependent on which school you're in and how many hours you take. Here's our flat rates for 09-10. Also, keep in mind that publicly funded universities have tuition go up for out-of-state residents.
