Ok so as some of you know already I'm looking for work after university and I'm serriously considering applying for a job on a Cruise ship to be honest I'm still no closer to making up my mind on if I want to do it or not This article gave futher insites in to cruise ship life as did these videos but that aside I was wondering if its acceptable to apply for two positions?

When I finish university I'll have a degree in film and tv production, I'm experienced at using sound equipment a sound desk and lighting. I've also been a technical assistant on college productions doing sound and lighting.

I'd like to do the same on a cruise ship but I'm not sure if I'd actually get the position, disney cruises only higher if you've had two years experience and I'd imagine other crusies policies are pretty similar and I havent had paid work and certainly not two years.

I'd still like to go for that type of job but like I said I'm not sure I'd get it.

On the other hand I have about four years experience as a sales assistant, once in a book store and the other as a camera sales man. Theres always a wide varity of shops on board a cruise and I think I have a decent chance of getting that type of job.

I dont really want to do it, working as a technical assistant would be far more benifical to my career, but because of my financial situation and the fact that I want to be in Canada in a year and a half I'd be willing to take the job.

Can I apply for both positions?

I have no idea, but I wouldn't think it would be a bad thing. Just means you have multiple areas of experience, right?

Well part of me feels that it would look like I'm not commited to the job I'm applying to if I go for two different jobs.

I've applied for two positions at the same company a lot (and I still got interviews).

Maybe I'm getting worried about nothing, its just in the article I read they were looking for the best possible people and ones who were the most commited to the job because they dont want to have to change staff at a random port once the novelty of the job wares off.

I dont know it might be enough that I really want to work on a cruise ship.

Rooster, cheers buddy.
