Semi charmed life - third eye blind (could only find a cover of it)

One week and all star were in pretty much every teen movie of the late 90's and early 00's and they made the films more awesome.

I also like avril lagvine - girlfriend but thats mainly because we play it to annoy the hell out of a friend who hates it more than a 3 year old hates quantum physics.

They're good, but that spot is reserved for "Bohemian Rhapsody".

Is this blog a joke?

Neil Young, Rolling Stones, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, LED ZEPPELIN...

we need to edumacate you on the classics, my friend.

edit: I like all of those songs and bands, but greatest songs ever written???

stubby43 on Mar 19 '09 at 4:59pm
I like making hyperbolic statments.

Also I find Neil Young, Rolling Stones, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, LED ZEPPLIN boring.

I do recognise their greatness, its just I like songs that are fun, make me happy... also they remind me of my teenaged years.

Phil, I see what you're saying about fun songs...and I'm glad you can at least recognize their greatness. :)

But in the same sense, I *really* love the song, Milkshake, and it makes me laugh/happy to hear it, but I would never claim that it was the best song ever written simply because it puts a smile on my face..ya know?

I do think that Third Eye Blind album is one of my favorites though.

Each to their own and all that but the last two of those, particularly the Smash Mouth ones are two of the most annoying songs I've ever heard.

It's all about what's relevant to you at the end of the day.

There's no right or wrong answer. I'd have trouble picking...
Chipmnk
Chipmnk on Mar 19 '09 at 5:08pm
I think I'd mind that Smash Mouth song a little less if it wasn't so over-played all through the 90s.

My personal choices would be:

With or without you - U2

Little Red Corvette - Prince

So Tired of Being Alone - Al Green

Young Americans - David Bowie

you know...stuff like that. Songs that never really get old.

I attempted to pick three songs that I would consider the best ever written, but it proved too difficult. It's the same with the "favourite/greatest bands" question, as well--all the musicians I listen to are tied at #1, and all for different reasons. There are some songs that I could never tire of, though.

I dont like what the cool kids like.

Actually I'm not that bothered I listen to it anyway cause I like them. Last night I started listening to the arrogant worms a canadian comedy band.

Three songs that will always remain in my transitional top 10:

Tom Waits - I Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You

Grabba Grabba Tape - Dr Groxtronix & Lil Kul Lol

Elbow - One Day Like This

This score gives me goosebumps in all the right places.

Michael Kamen got this spot on and I like the later version of the overture that incorporates Bryan Adam's 'Everything I Do' at the end. Classic!

Cicatriz E.S.P. by The Mars Volta is just an insanely good song. Not something I'd listen to on repeat, just so so good.
