Yay for making snowmen.

It's one of my favourite things to do with snow.

Right after sliding down a hill at high speed on a small sled.

I took my boy sledging for the first time this morning, it was cool seeing everyone not even attempt to go to work, and just have the day off. It seems like a real holiday for some reason.

I'm afraid this weather has meant I "can't" get into work.

It's very frustrating.

Shine up those sleds and find a hill.

was kinda thinking that. How available are they in the UK
stubby43
stubby43 on Feb 02 '09 at 8:40am
I dont know I think we get them in at winter in hardware stores but its more out of tradition than actually being able to use them, the last time I used a sled in the UK I must of been 10.

I hit a dog, it bit me.

Sqiud on Feb 02 '09 at 8:50am
take a garden hose and ice up that sucker

then you could slide down on just about anything...car door, boogie board,

oh

just dont use a thin plastic sled on it unless you want to break your tailbone

If you cant buy a sled, just get a big garbage bag. Put an old pillow in it to sit on.

Fing a hill, sit down on your pillos, and whooooshshhhhh.

It works really well.

(also without pillow but I would not reccomend it.)

Snow! It is sad that snow is a rarity there. I should see if my friend got any, then it really would be just like home, but less.

The first time I saw snow was in England. :) Chester to be exact.

I believe I was around seven years old. And, I should dig out the photos of my sister and I having a snowball fight. They're hilarious.

Persons kind of works, if your you know lax on grammar.

We dont really get snow in the north of england either, especially not in cheshire but that might be because cheshire is close to the coast.

Also i've updated the blog with photos.

Although, congratulations on your frozen precipitation.

Oh I know its not alot of snow compared to other places, I've lived in canada on and off for 8 months and even then that was only at the start of winter.

but for the UK its alot, if we have enough to play in were very happy the sad thing is I bet it'll be another 10 years before we see snow like it again.

I think UK winters are similar to Chattanooga winters. Lots of rain, and only enough snow to dust the ground and melt before morning. On the rare occasions we got any, we would sled on plastic garbage lids.
