I'm just wondering if the recession is having such a dramatic effect in other countries as it is in the UK?
So far we've had several major retailers go into administration including: MFI - furniture woolworths zavvi - cds/dvds (it colapsed on christmas eve) Adams - kids clothing store and theres more to come, Jessops which sells camera's is probably next to go, they were on the verge of collapse last year when the market was still considered to be good they secured a financing package for three years but no one could of predicted the market crashing so badly so I doubt they got enough money to weather the storm. Then theres the airlines, fly zoom collapsed in september weeks before I was set to fly to canada with them, I paid on credit cad and lucked out so I flew with british airways instead. I was told by an airhost that he's certain the next airline to collapse apparantly its been bleeding money for several years being propped up by investments and with less of them around it wont last much longer. But I was wondering, are we the only country suffering so badly? Our major chains are disapearing and its changing the look of the high street, whats more about the only companies that arent struggling are super markets and they will benifit fromt he recession.
