I have said "lol" out loud more than once.

That's right.

I'm sorry I'm dyslexic and drunk, but nice use of a threadless tee to correct me on my grammar.

I use interweb slang with friends because its funny, but this is one of the few times I've done it by accident.

I swear I dont know how my friends put up with me because I talk so much shit almost all the time, I fill the silence by quoting songs or tv shows or just general bollocks.,

And Pascal, if it's not working on the interwebs it's probably not working in a bar either. :)

it's that "beware of pulling stupid faces in case they stick" thing. used to purposefully mispronounce a couple of words - eventually they became the norm, making me roll my eyes at myself.

i've said "for the win", and so far have successfully subdued some "lol"s before they came out.

I use it a fair amount, but it just becomes part of your day to day lexicon...
taz-pie

i actually said "serious fox is SERIOUS." the other day.

people had no idea what i was talking about.

i say FAIL a lot.

i suppose that means i really do fail :(
squatterjohn
squatterjohn on Dec 04 '08 at 7:16am
I think in internet slang sometimes, I've never really said it out loud unintentionally. When you meet people from the internet, you use it a bit for a laugh mostly.
bcrider
bcrider on Dec 04 '08 at 7:32am
I'm with taz-pie; I use FAIL constantly. And "[adjective] [noun] is [adjective]" all the freaking time.

"Serious cat is serious."

"Obnoxious kid is obnoxious."

"Hot rice is HOT."

I just can't say the acronyms, like LOL or OMG or whatever. I tend to say "loll" to mean LOL when referring to LOLcats or things of that nature.

I've said "pics or it didn't happen" quite a lot, and most people at least UNDERSTAND what that means. :)
squatterjohn
squatterjohn on Dec 04 '08 at 7:34am
It's funny when people say lol out loud, because if you say lol, you should just be laughing.
mooseinmyshoe
mooseinmyshoe on Dec 04 '08 at 7:36am
Haha, I've done it too. Definitely "for the win" and "lol @". Usually I say "lawl" when we're just kidding.

I had a dream that I went on a date with a boy who said "lol" and then got really embarrassed and he blushed and then we got married...Just a lil tid bit for ya.
bcrider
bcrider on Dec 04 '08 at 7:39am
Bwuahahaha! At least when you were getting married and he was asked if he took you to be his lawfully wedded wife he didn't LOL. :D

What if we started giving internet advice in real life? Like if your friend came to you with girl troubles and you blurted out "pee in her butt."

I say "LAWL" a lot, but that's usually when I'm reading somebody else's text out loud. How else are you supposed to say it? And my and my boyfriend pronounce "ftw" as "FTWAH" because we're stupid like that. :D

I started to do that too. The thing is that my friends and family speak German and if I have some slang slipping they have no idea what I'm talking about. Most of the times I get a strange look at first and then the talk about me being an internet nerd and Threadless junkie. The other day I had to explain a lolcat.

So far I've kept from saying "lol" out loud, but I think it a LOT.

Every time I catch myself committing this sin against the English language, I whip myself with cat7 cables and then cry in the corner.

I used to work in Swindon, and on a day we had real good figures I sent an email to our region saying something like "43 NEW SALES FOR TEH DON!!1!" and I just got loads of replies saying you spelt 'the' wrong.
