Yup yup, coming back to canada has been one of the most stressful things I've ever done.
I managed to get an internship but very late on figured out I needed to get a work permit then had to go through an application proccess only to be told that a different one would be faster. This other one I started put me getting my work visa after my flights so I had to re book them.
Then one of the companies I was flying with went bankrupt so i had to buy tickets with another company but had no idea if I was going to get my money back or not (turned out we bought them on a credit card so I was covered)
Tess, normally you dont need to get a visa as long as your leaving before 4 months, you need to get a work visa to study if your going to be at university full time.
I'm only there for a semester so I dont need a student permit, however I'm doing an internship with a film company. The problem is although its un paid and part of my education according to the canadians it legally counts as work so I had to get a visa.
If your going over for education then you need a student visa and that will let you have a part time job, if your not going to study you need to get a work visa and you need to get applying now the quickest turn around I've heard of is six months.
