Today a customer came in the shop today and said out right he wanted to buy a nikon d700, the nikon d700 costs £2,200 our daily sales target is £2000 so we would of been set for the rest of the day. On top of this if you sell a D700 you get an extra £30 in your pay slip.

We had a D700 in ready to be sold and the guy didnt even care that it had been on display.

but we couldnt sell it to him because, and this is the kicker were not allowed to match deals that we are doing on our own website.

On our website we are offering a d700 with a 4 gb compact flash card extreme five its worth £200.

We had both these items in stock but we werent allowed to sell them.

I'm pissed off, one because I would of had an extra bit of cash and two one of the full time staff is a complete arsehole and was showing off telling everyone that he was going to be the first person to sell a D700, selling it before he did would of been a big fuck you but I lost out on that because my company is run by idiots.

if it had been up to me I would of just said fuck it I'd rather have £2,200 straight away but the manager said no we cant do it, then the store down the road (we have two stores in york five shops apart) rang up and said they had someone who wanted to buy a d700 so we had to give it them.

Ha, the guy went down the road and they realized that rules were made to be broken at THAT store.

I sold a display model once so I could make an extra $75. My supervisor bitched me out for a full day but it was still totally worth it.

That didnt happen though it would of been frustrating because I was on the phone with the store down the road whilst my manager was trying to work out how to do the deal whilst sticking with the rules.

Either way I lost £30.

LarLar, almost everything we sell is display models because we only ever get sent one at a time (unless its point and click cameras then we have loads), ok now most of these cameras will only of been in the cabient a week at the most but what i have to do is take the cameras out, box them up up stairs and pretend their brand new.

Its bad but if we didnt do that we'd never sell anything.

Yeah I skimmed through it kind of quickly and misinterpreted. Either way, you should steal a camera now. Fight the power.
