picitforawrd

For those of you who don’t know what Pic it forward is, it’s a group photography some of the threadless bloggers came up with about a year ago. The ideas fairly simple one person buys a disposable camera, takes a few photos then posts it onto the next person on the list, the next person gets the camera, takes a few photos and passes it on until it gets to the final person who gets the photos developed, printed and uploaded to the blog and flickr group for everyone to see.

Sounds like fun? Well were starting it up again and where looking for people to take part, want to join?

Its pretty simple just email:
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
picitforward@gmail.com

User name
real name
address
willing to print
willing to buy a camera

in the subject put pic it forward, then put your threadless user name, this will make it easier for to work out who is who later.

For returning members all you have to do is send an email with your user name in the subject and playing again:

So it'll look like this

Stubby42 - playing again

-----------------------------------------------

Anyway on to the moment we've all been wating for, the photo's they be printing!!

Nice Job everyone!

Lol, I'm sure your photos are amazing chelly at the very least they can be awesome by proxy.

I really wish I could actually take part in the project now but my money problems got alot worse recently so I'll just have to live vicariously through all of your work.

Awesome!!! All the pictures came out so great!

....though there were a few photos which overtaxed the autofocus capabilities of the camera, my photo of the bee and coneflowers especially. Silly camera focused on the foliage!

Well if were being picky, then there are problems but a disposable camera is never going to produce the same level of quality as an slr.

I mean the film speed was most likely 400 ISO, which is really good for taking photos in doors but its bad in low light conditions (your really need 800 and above for that) and for out doors on sunny days you should really be using 200 and below so there was always going to be limits on what you could actually produce.

But I think the photos are raised to a higher level of awesomeness because of the time and work that was put into producing them. It was a collaborative effort by strangers working together, they traveled all over the country. We really couldnt of been able to do this type of project without the internet, if we did it would be alot harder and not everyone would be able to see the results.

Those are awesome! I especially love "giant hot dog with some kind of oil...." and "loopy track to nowhere" --- I Wish the one of me and my grandma wasn't so blurry... and too bad I just missed the whole bike in the motorcycle shot!

Sweet margo cant wait to see them.

Fiona, your a part of route 4, apparantly thats been printed but it hasnt been uploaded yet. Should be done soon.

Baron, I know its amazing especially when you consider that the two combiened photos are from two seperate people, the keyboard is from Midi-chlorinated and the bridge is from AsStarsGoOut. I know it was an accident but they ended up collaborating on one photo which is really what this projects about.

Alright, this is taking me a lot longer than I have hoped. Sorry guys! My internet access at the beach wasn't reliable enough for me to upload the pictures, so I am doing it now. They were all scanned onto the CD upside down so as soon as I can flip them they will be on my flickr.

was there not a sheet where people mentioned what pictures were there? I started the camera out with one...

and there's no list of what the pictures are that came with the random route old school camera, so we'll have to deal with the same thing for that.

Glad you had fun, we need to get everyone together and have a big chat abot the future of pic it forward pretty soon.

I need to know if people want to do it again (if so do you want to do more ambitious routes), if people want to print a book, if so how much are you willing to pay, what do you want in it and would you be ok with me taking a profit so I can put the money towards pic it forward?
