Ok so a while ago I found out that I needed to get a visa to work in canada for 4 months despite the fact that its an internship meaning its a part of education and its unpaid.

Its bad but it is possible to get a visa in time the problem is I need the company to send me a letter confirming the job offer as well as a contract and a Human resources and skills development Canada (HRSDC) confirmation file number. The HRSDC decides whether the foreign worker will have a positive or negative impact on the Canadian labour market, the only way to get the confirmation number is if you apply to the HRSDC.

These are things only they can get, once they've got it and sent on the info to me then I can apply for a work visa (which can take as little as a week).

The problem is the company's being un responsive, I sent two emails and didnt get a reply, I called the guy who offered me the internship and he said he was still up for it and said that he'd delegate all the form filling to someone else (which makes sense he's the president) but that was a week ago and I still havent heard anything.

I mean all I really want is for someone to tell me their filling out the forms, or for them to send me the contract and letter at least then I'd know things were happening.

As it is I feel like I'm in limbo, I mean dont get me wrong its my own fault I should of done the research properly (the canadian goverment imgration website is confusing) and I understand I'm not top prioritory and that their busy (their running two film productions) but I need updating.

I dont know what to do because I cant keep constantly emailing him because he can just turn around and say no internship and I'm scared of getting annoying but on the other hand if I'm not pushy then it'll just disapear.

I've sent another email asking if I can talk to the person he delegated the work to and hopefully that will work out alot better but if he doesnt respond to that email then I have no idea what to do.

I've staked everything I have on going back to canada, its what got me through the last semester of uni without quiting, I'm working all summer to pay for a plane ticket and I dont have accomodation arranged if this falls through and I cant commute 6 hours a day five days a week its impossible.

I'm slightly stressed.

Right, not exactly helpful advice though.

Honnestly if everything goes wrong I'm just gonna dust myself off and start over, after uni I'm gonna go out on a bunac work holiday visa come back to the uk work for a bit then start applying for a work visa.

yes, in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation, it is always better to act than to remain idle.

Call them and remember yesterday was a holiday, so they may have been a bit back logged.
