Thanks for posting this. I saw a video on an earlier model of this touch screen a few months ago and I was blown away by all the applications.

sweet! I LOVE watching these new tech videos every year.

I'm interested in the kind of applications this could have with hand-sculpting drawings. or even music.

I think one of the areas thats going to be changed alot is how we go about doing animation, to do a fairly simple animation (e.g no change in camera angles) you'd need to do on drawing and set the movement joints and people could create an animation very quickly.

So what you'll see is alot of rubbish being produced by the average user, but the trained and skilled will be able to use it to create master pieces.

If this makes it through then there wont be a need for a mouse.

They have a number of really interesting videos of lectures and demonstrations on that site on a wide variety of topics. You should go check it out. Everything from a doctor who found a way to combat phantom limb pain to a guy who figured out some practical classroom uses for the wii remote.

Thanks snakeman, but thats actually where I got the videos from.

But I'd really, really love to go to the TED conference but $6,000 is a little out of my price range.

The mouse is the lazy man's tool. And we all lazy. No one wants to be all up waving their hands and shit. Getting all sweaty. Wanna sit back in my comfy char and move inches with my mouse.

I could have a $10 (well $60~ in my case) mouse or a hundredes / thousands of dollar display to for input.

also how old is the video cause isn't this thing almost exactly like microsoft's surface thing??? which has been floating about for awhile.
