To all the whisky drinkers

What brands your favourite? and how do you like it?

Whisky's about the only alcholic drink I still like to drink because no one expects you to get wasted because its a hard drink (going on my experinces) and I'm looking for some recomendations on what I should be drinking.

My current favourite is canadian club and coke, which is stupidly hard to get in the UK (I went into a specialist shop and they had one bottle).

and I like jack daniels, but then thats thw whisky everyone starts on.

I like any whiskey pretty much, and usually drink it straight, but that's because Amelie tells me off if I spoil her whiskey with a mixer. You should ask her, she practically bathes in the stuff.

im a big fan of black label, but i usually by red label, which is fine too. I've had green label once, and that was too good.

these are johnny walkers, in case that wasn't obvious.

or if you like it, southern comfort. i used to drink a handle of soco a week. aaaah freshman year.

I likes the malt whisky. Just a touch of water to bring out the flavour. Scapa and Highland Park are both nice. They are peaty. We have around 15 different whiskys at home.

I actually love Southern Comfort, or even the Tesco own brand version - Arizona Dream.

I used to drink southern comfort when I was about 18. I'd move onto that from Malibu and pineapple. I cannot drink either of them now.

when I drink whiskey i'm only doing it because a) i'm either already wasted, or b) i don't want to feel my face/get out of bed for a week. therefore, when i drink whiskey i the big plastic Black Velvet bottle that has a handle. my dad is a big whiskey drinker...me and my siblings bought him a bottle of Crown Royal XR for christmas...haven't tried it but he said it's smooth, only problem is it's $150+ a bottle. here's a pic

I had a bad experience with tesco own brand scotch when I was younger. Put me off the stuff for life. The only other thing I know about whisky is that Scotch whisky is spelt 'Whisky' and Irish and American bourbon is spelt "Whiskey".

according to tastings.com the best scored whisky is--Highland Park 25 Year Old Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky (100 proof) $195.00/bottle and the best whiskey is a 4 way tie but the cheapest is the Bernheim Straight Wheat Whiskey (90 proof) for $39.99

If you're a povo like me, the cheapest single malt that's palatable straight in the UK is Glen Orrin from Aldi at about �9 a bottle.

Whiskey is my drink of choice. I am not too particular about which one I drink. I do love Johnny Walker, black and red. Chivas is very good too. I am not a big Jack Daniels fan. I love to drink it straight but will mix it with 7up or sprite if in the mood.

Why would you want 100% prrof whisky? It's not be nice to drink. Whisky is about 100% proof anyway, adn then they dilute it until it tastes nice (usually around 40%). I've been on 3 or 4 distillary tours. I know stuff.

Jack Daniels all the way. My wife and I visited the distillery last year - walking through the barrel houses was a religious experience.
