By film people I mean people who make films in there free time/as part of their studies/their career.
Anyway back on track, I'm thinking of setting up a sort of online collective and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in taking part. What I mean by a collective is a website devoted to showing examples of each person/companies work, you'd have a page on the site with your biography and then the short films you've produced and a link to your website/contact information. The idea is that by working together and keeping a strong selection of films together more people will see our work, which could lead to more work maybe even paid work. We could also help each other out, for example if a band offered me work to make a music video, but I wasnt really coming up with idea's or had too much work on I could reffer them to someone else to make the film. We would also have the potential to run the website as a kind of tv network (if we were interested in it) a great example of this is Black20.com that shows its programs only on its website (they have two regular shows that are made each week). college humour.com is another site thats being used as a distribution platform for film makers work. As its a collective everything is up for debate, but the base is pretty simple, its a platform for a group of film makers to show off their work, instead of it getting lost in sites like youtube and vimeo. |
