Over here were told that the resume can not be more than two pages or people wont read it, a normal resume would have a covering letter thats a maximum of one page and two pages for the resume, the type must not be times new roman or it wont be read and you have to do something to set your application apart for example mine has a photo of me on the front.

We also send off a portfolio of work.

so this is for film?

over here, if you're looking for work, it's pretty much cover letter; ONE Page of Resume max or people won't read it, and a reel of previous work.

interesting about the Times New Roman thing

I've left so many jobs and applied to work at so many places in the past year that I'm tired of looking at my resume.

I think thats the difference, I havent worked on anything outside of university, I've had a couple of weeks doing a work placement (and another one coming up) but its far from employement, so I have to describe all my skills.

If you need help, you can email me what you have for pointers... I once took a class in college that focused on resumes and getting our portfolios ready.

resumes are hell. i had to write one for internship/grad school applications. mine is 2 pages - i was told not to have it longer than that also. if i needed to include a cover letter that was a third page.

good luck with getting your resume finished! i dont know what program you're using for formatting but microsoft word has some cool resume formats and you can download more from microsoft word.com
