Last week I took the bus out to chester, its pretty much my nearest city, its 30 minutes away but takes about an hour on the bus.
Its also a very pretty city, its roman (but very little of that still exists) and has been occupied ever since. As a result its a walled city and has the most complete walls in the UK and the majority of its arcitecuture is tudor. ![]() Chester is a boarder city with wales and was built to deffend England from attack (so of course it has a castle), so it has alot of quirks relating to this history. For example up until very recently it was perfectly legal to kill a welshman, the conditions? the welsman had to be standing outside the city walls, you had to be standing on them and it had to be done with a bow and arrow. ![]() Chesters also famous for this clock, its supposed to be the second most photographed clock in the country, the first being big ben. ![]() ![]() ![]() Chester catherdral
