Last week I took the bus out to chester, its pretty much my nearest city, its 30 minutes away but takes about an hour on the bus.

Its also a very pretty city, its roman (but very little of that still exists) and has been occupied ever since. As a result its a walled city and has the most complete walls in the UK and the majority of its arcitecuture is tudor.

Chester is a boarder city with wales and was built to deffend England from attack (so of course it has a castle), so it has alot of quirks relating to this history. For example up until very recently it was perfectly legal to kill a welshman, the conditions? the welsman had to be standing outside the city walls, you had to be standing on them and it had to be done with a bow and arrow.

Chesters also famous for this clock, its supposed to be the second most photographed clock in the country, the first being big ben.

That cathedral picture is amazing. It almost doesn't look real.

Chester one of the few places I'd miss when I leave the UK, as for the cathedral believe me I've been in more impressive catherdrals than that one, york (where I study) is amazing, its the largest gothic catherdral in northern europe and I get to graduate in it.
