My friend Kristens had a few bids on it on facebook but shes got no idea of how much she should charge for this piece of work.

Anyone have any ideas?

Update Kristen says:

" its bigger than a 8 1/2 by 11, Its in Graphite, and its on printing paper, fairly expensive I might add, like 3.50$ for a sheet, but on that sheet I can get a good 4 or 5 of the size of drawings for the kurt. I worked a good 6 hours on it, maybe a little more, I wasnt really keeping track."

Oh heres some of her other work, I'm not sure if there for sale or not:

And heres a self portrait

How big is it? How much time did she spend on it? I'd consider those factors when trying to set a price.

what medium is it and is it on canvas or paper?

When I had to price my stuff for the gallery show they told me to price it according to:

- cost of supplies

- time spent on it

- display [is it in a frame?]

so for mine it was a digital print out - so cost of that, plus cost of matting, plus cost of plexi glass, snapping the pic wasn't so hard so time spent wasn't very expensive.

Hope that helps..

i personally feel that if she hasnt sold a lot of stuff it shouldnt be tooexpensive...unless people will pay for it i guess.

i would say at least $100 for an original pencil rendering, but since her bids are coming from facebook, i wouldn't expect that high from college students...

Well I told her to set up an etsy shop but I think she'll go less than $80 because she has two offers on the work already which is better than risking it on a website to a certain extent.

Tell her to keep the original and not sell for less than $200, and offer to sell signed limited prints (good quality) for $30 each.
