Every year our accomodation holds a quad (the building is split into four floors, each floor has two quads on it with a certain number of rooms per quad) decorating competion apparantly people take it fairly serriously. Most of the quads had started decorating or were at least talking about doing it but our quad nothing and the competion is on tuesday.

So me and my friend mike decided to go out and buy a christmas tree. Our friend (from a different quad) told us to get a fake tree under seven foot.

Being the sensible people we are me and Mike bought a real tree thats about nine foot (the floor to the rough is seven foot).

Its amazing because we've now inspired the quad to go all out decorating, if we dont win I'll be disapointed.

the beast

its pretty big

Amazingly it only cost us $40.

I cant wait to start decorating, were planning on filming a time lapse of it, we'll probably compress about an hour of decorating into about three minutes.

You should steal a little bit of every other quad's decorations and put them on the tree. It'll make every other floor love you forever.

I know theres debate on what to do with the size, the quads split between cutting it to a reasonable size and keeping it that size but hanging the star on it so it looks like the stars so heavy its pulling the tree down.

Were planning on decorating it with beer cans and coke cans (for colour), having beer boxes with ribbons on to be the presents, having a recording of a fire on loop playing on the tv, painting a nativity, music playing and a guy playing christmas carrols in the coner.

If it happens it'll be amazing, I'm really happy were doing it because I'm missing it at home.
