Ok as some mos of you know I'm in canada till christmas (sasketchewan) and that I'm trying to get a bit of traveling in whilst I'm here well I fly out of toronto to the uk on the 21st of december and I wanted to see the city before I leave but the problem is because the way my flights work out and because of my financial situation I need a floor to crash on.

I'm booking my flights now if I dont have somewhere to crash I honnestly dont think I can see the city and I wont be able to go to a blogger meet up.

Sorry its alot of pressure, I am trying to work out if I can see the city without crashing on someones floor but its not looking so good.

EDIT

I've found a flight from new york to toronto where I get in at 11am my flight out of toronto to the uk is 9:40pm I need to be at the airport for about 5pm which means I have a couple of hours to meet people and see the city!

There's barely enough room for me to sleep in my own bed. I'm happy to meet up, though, provided I'm not in the hospital at that time.

Sorry. :(

Thats ok and I managed to work something out, if your not in the hospital and able to meet up it would be amazing.

Any ideas of what we can do in toronto?

Oh.....crap.

I'd been thinking of offering you crashspace but (due to various dumb reasons best left unexplained) I hadn't discussed it yet with the housemates. Oops, sorry.

As for "what to do for a few daytime hours in T.O.", well, you could join all the locals in their mad last-minute xmas shopping.

No?

Well, what sorts of things are fun for you?

Your from canada? I had no idea I assumed the only forigners were me, olly, Blair, Jan and Adreinne (I find her name mega difficult to spell).

But yeah whispers in water was interested in a meet up as well so we'll have a nice little group.

Wish I'd been slightly more patient with my tickets.

Ditto. It'll be a workday for me, ordinarily, but I should be able to bank enough hours before then to justify disappearing for the day.

Awsome you guys are heros, I was thinking though I'm not sure what to do with my suitcase cause I dont want to lug it round the city and I dont think I can leave it in the airport.

You may have difficulties with your luggage. I know they don't have lockers in Union Station any more because I looked into that when I came into Toronto and had to kill time until my friend got home from work. It's a long shot but you might be able to use a locker . You could contact them and ask. They might at least be able to tell you about other options. I can't remember if there are lockers at the Greyhound station at Dundas and Bay or not. That might be another option, but you'd have to get confirmation that there are actually lockers there.

Looks like there are lockers at the Greyhound station which is at Bay and Dundas. Get off at either Dundas or St. Patrick stations on the subway. It's about halfway between them.

And take the Airport Rocket TTC bus to the subway and then downtown.

There is a place to store baggage at the airport, apparently. Probably isn't cheap (nothing at Canada's Most Expensive Airport ever is) but sure beats schlepping it around town.

I'm sorta the same way, except I'm prone to leaving things to the very last minute, and then I have to decide whether to (a) try to QUICKLY get ahold of people to arrange stuff, or (b) make a wildassed guess at a workable schedule, and thus save a few hundred bucks by buying the ticket RIGHT NOW.

Using the lockers at the bus station is workable, except that it's an express bus plus two subway lines from the airport. And the bus is going to be majorly full of people and THEIR luggage.

"It's a long shot but you might be able to use a locker..."

My link got dumped. That should have said you might be able to use a locker at the HI hostel near Union Station. Copy and paste:
