I got sacked today

Today at work I got called in and they told me I've got the sack, i can either leave today or work till the end of my notice which is next friday.

They said that I was on a temporary week by week contract and I hadnt made the grade and a couple of team leaders had said to improve and thats it.

This is extremely unfair I need this job to save up the money to go to canada for 4 months, I'm quiting in three weeks anyway but they wouldnt let me stay.

The worst thing is they didnt sack me because I was struggling, the fact of the matter is I'm a student and they needed to fire somone because people were coming off holidays, the last time they warned me was about three weeks ago and they havent shown me how to improve.

I hate the job but I need the money.

Oh for those that dont know I work in a factory packing boxes of buscuits.

aww that sucks stubby! I can sympathize! I got the sack like 2 days before easter. I was on unemployment for like 2 months which didn't even cover rent.

Hopefully you can find someplace temporary.. maybe a starbucks or something?

Its not that I liked the job or the hours but I need money and I can get another job, no one will hire me for three weeks.

J-ray, apparantly I wasnt packing the stuff into the boxes fast enough,which is true I was struggling but I'd improved in the last couple of weeks and it wasnt like I was letting hundreds go.

well no need to tell them it's only for 3 weeks. Especially if it's a kinda 'throw away' job like starbucks or some other type of fast food place.

i wish i had more suggestions to offer you. i think your in the UK right? So I'm not sure how they treat unemployment stuff over there.

I'm not that bothered, I do have a fair amount saved but another �400 is another $800 so its not ideal.

There not name brand, you know when you go to a supermarket and buy their own products, well were one of the companies that makes them and sticks on the labels.
