Ok so i dont actually live there but I've spent a hell of alot of time in my nearest city chester and its a fascinating place, full of stupid little facts from its long history (chester was occupied by the romans who used it as a major city it even has an ampetherater).

As I said chester is a very old city and is a walled city and was mainly used for the defense against the welsh.

Up until recently you were legally allowed to kill a welsh man... if you were on the city walls, the welshman was inside it and you were firing a bow and arrow at them.

All taxi's in chester are braking the law, it is a legal requirement for all taxi's to have a hay bale on it (a law that was never repealed back when taxi's were horse drawn carts).

One of the mayors of chester banned football because too many people were getting hurt, so he set up the chester horse races instead.

The race course is the only race course in the country were the hourses run around anti clock wise.

The east gate clock tower is supposed to be the second most photographed clock in the country. Ironically the clock does not face east because the if it did it would be facing wales.



Chester was the first city in england to have a sherif (paid law enforcement).
