Am I the only one that doesnt really care about the alumni club either way? I've never designed at the moment (I'm just not confident enough in my abilities) and my slogans really arent that great and I really only come on here to talk and buy shirts (I rarely vote).

Your all being stupid, the blogs are what you make of it, the alumni club is barely a day old we have no idea what its going to be like. The only reason its affecting the blogs is because your making it affect the blogs.

To be honnest I really dont think it changes anything anyway, there was always that elitism that developed naturally Glen Jones case in point.

The prizes are just added extras, I mean can anyone honnestly say they didnt want the cash prize?

the only thing that im jealous about is the fact that their names are now purple. only the moderators should be a diff color.. i feel so left out

aside from that i dont care. there are enough blogs for me to wreak havoc on already

HelloPattern - how utterly hilarious.

Anyway, I didn't ever feel any kind of elitism before, except between the staff and regular punters (which is fair enough).

I don't mind the Alumni club. Would be nice to be able to at least see the Alumni blogs, if not contribute to them. And they should lose that little emblem thing from Printed People's blog posts - I just think it's really obnoxious.

They totally deserve money for reprints, and it's nice that overall prize has been upped, too.

Threadless is a great place for punters and designers alike, and I don't think (at least I HOPE) that the Alumni thing will change that.

i honestly dont mind any part of the new alumni stuff.

i can't honestly say that i'm not a lil jealous, but that's mostly just cause i would like to submit a design and win. it has nothing at all to do with the alumni status

I don't see who it benefits to be honest. They could have just divided the general blogs into random chat, art feedback, tutorials, etc.

With the introduction of a secret blog for such purposes, Threadless are excluding those which perhaps need that feedback more, and that seems kind of pointless, and not very community minded.

The only thing I can see happening in the new section that couldn't have happened in the normal blogs is that some people can talk about other people without them being able to read it. I'm not saying that will happen though, and I doubt it will.

Maybe time will prove me wrong, but as it stands, I don't think I'm missing much by not being involved.

Honnestly I think it'll take a few weeks before we know how it will affect the blogs.
