Any internationa members want to take a trip to the skinnycorp offices?

So what with all the talk of a threadless meet up soon I got a bit jelous and disapointed that I couldnt go simply because I live in blighty (UK).

I'd really love to go see the skinny corp offices (which would be cool on its own) but I also love the idea of meeting lots of other threadless members.

But for me personally it'll take along time to save, in fact it could be upwards of a year before I'd be able to go.

So I was wondering if any other international members would be willing to make the trek to meet up on the same day?

I mean for us this is a major thing, if I were to do this I wouldn just be spending a day in chiacgo I'd need to spend a week at the very least in the states.

But apart from the money and a lack of a plan hypothetically I'm up for a big international meet up at the earliest this time next year.

(the american members are welcome as well).

Just to clarify I mean a big group of us internationl folks going to chicago to the threadless offices.

yeah i'd love to do it, but i won't be able to afford it any time soon. and if i could afford it it'd probably be irresponsible to spend the money on it anyway, so i'm not sure i'll ever get there.

It helps where were there, not the actual flights to the states unfortunatly.

A quick look a prices:

Manchester airport (uk) to chicago costs £400 return.

i would definetly go, but im probably too young to be trecking to the US without the parents, bummer. Plus i would need the money; really want to go though.

d3d, dont think of it as spending money on a trip to meet internet people at an office for a company. Thats really only a part of it.

The fact is for most of us it would have to be a holiday.

Plus its purely hypothetical at the moment, I know at some point in the future I'll be visiting but it might have to be within the next three years rather than next year.

And then to the east coast, fuck thats alot of money and I take it thats without a hotel or with food and other stuff on top of that?

in three years i'll be able to afford the trip and be old enough to do 'what i want', more or less. It would be awesome if this actually happens

I've never seen that much money, so with the wife and kids you could be hitting the region of $20,000 for a weeks holiday.

you won't get the warehouse, but an international meet-up still sounds pretty fun.

You dont mate, I work in a factory five days a week earning £225 a week as a basic wage and can bump it up more if i work weekends.

Once you get past the initial cost of the flight (which at the most will cost £500) because of the exchange rate for us everything becomes half price.

I'm working for three months in the factory then going to canada for four months I'll of earnt £3000 ish but that works out to about $6000 canadian.

the point is for us its doable.

Theres a london meet up soon but I cant go to that because I'm working towards going to canada this year.

The point of this discussion was to see how many of us would be up for a trip to chicago to the offices, I mean i'll go eventually anyway I just thought it would be cool to have a group of us there.

Hey d3d, could you claim it on tax as a work expense (experience sharing/information gathering/etc) thing as you're a designer? Just a thought

Oh ah, also I'd love to but I just don't know if I'd be able to save enough in time. But if there was a date set, I'd consider it if it was far enough ahead in time

I'm hoping to trip over to Canada some time next year, I have some friends in Toronto that I have been meaning to visit for eons. So I could probably make that work with a Chicago trip :D its not too far.
