I really enjoyed kayaking at college but my university doesnt do it (despite being next to a river, it has the boats for them but the boat club never takes them out).

So what with the really good weather in the UK, I've been itching to get out on the water but cant. I decided to have a look at how much it would cost to buy a kayak.

From £500 to £700 but then you need to spend at least another £300 on kit (spray deck, life jacket, wet suit and a paddle).

So between £800 and £1000, I guess its another wait till I'm out of uni and in a job type thing.

Along with the digital srl camera.

My uni has yachting, canoe and rowing clubs, and we are not that close to the river (well not a bit you can go on anyway). That's just crappy.

Yup, its because the boat club is actually a rowing club, all there really interested in is rowing in 4's, basically the things you can achieve with, their not even interested in skulling (one man boat).

I was never into competitive rowing, but if I want to be on the water its that or nothing.
