I'm kinda spamming here, but it's for a good cause. The World Parrot Trust is having a fly free campaign in which they are trying to rais $25,000 to end the trade in wild caught parrots. Now, most of you know I'm a bird freak and I am owned by one noisy parrot named sunny (she's also my avatar). I absolutely hate that this happens to wild birds and I absolutely want wild birds to stay wild. I feel that I had to pass this along to any of you that are looking for a good cause to donate to this holiday season and also who love animals as much as I do. Donate here! Happy holidays!
I've been here for three years today, didn't actually start subbing or hanging around much til about 2.5 years ago. Here's to three more!
I hate that. I am pretty sure my latest is going to go up late, probably at 1 in the morning, it's in the queue now but it's somewhere like 200 in line. BOOOOO!! I'd rather they just wait until tomorrow to put it up instead of it going up in the middle of the night. Then I have to stay up super late in order to find out what the score is, and it's not as likely to get as much attention straight away.
I'm going to screen print some calendars - single sheet with all the months on them, so it's just one page I'll trifold - to send out to local businesses and art directors of publishing companies to hopefully garner some more freelance business. I'm not sure what to put on it though. I am thinking that a scene from one of my favorite stories or poems would be appropriate since I am going to be sending it to children's book publishers.
I'm currently torn between several ideas. One is the scene from Alice in Wonderland where they are playing flamingo croquet. I haven't really drawn this one yet, I just like the idea. Another possibility is a drawing I partially finished some time ago and then quit working on, from "The Owl and the Pussycat". Here it is: ![]() I know, I know, the sail needs to be finished and the cloud stinks and I would fix all that, but could it be calendar worthy? I would make it more a la this sub here: ![]() which is also something I could use on my calendar instead. I might sell them but if threadless prints it I can just use it as self promotional stuffs). Alternatively, there's this guy (the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland) who I could work into another crazy drawing somehow, I never found a home for him: ![]() Thoughts? I need some help deciding!!!
Don't know if it's kosher to post this here or not but I am anyways :p I'm having a sale on all my Etsy items! $5 off every item til Christmas so grab em while you can. Yay!
Threadless definitely has to be one of the nicest places on the internet to hang around. I love it here. It's probably the friendliest online art forum I know of. Big hugs!!!
People always ask if they can look at my sketchbook. My sketchbook is just a buncha scribbles and notes about ideas. It's a place where I try to record ideas as they come to me but there's nothing much that's fabulous looking in there. I'm sort of a doodler but my doodles don't look like much. Anyone else like that?
the mice will play
![]() Yes/no? Would be a series of drawings including these but many more covering the whole front o' the shirt. I'm not gonna work on this too soon, I have to finish a superryan collab first, but it popped into my head last night. worth it? |
I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
I'm awesome!
Buy my stuff on ETSY! I also heart birds. "Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul" - Emily Dickinson ![]() My top scores: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
