I want one. You know, the wacom where you draw right on the screen. Preferably the huge one. I know I'll have to shell out the big buck$ for it but is there anywhere you'd recommend to go to get a better deal on it? I also have student friends who can purchase it for me if I could get it a bit cheaper that way.
Also, if you use one, what's your opininion? Thanks!

I found a couple Intuos pads for around $300 on craigslist.

Supposedly they're hardly used. I'm going to check them out at any rate.

Has anyone got one? The only thing I'm concerned about is the accuracy of the nib. I have a Wacom and there is a slight glitch and delay on the cursor when I first put the nib to the tablet. It's annoying enough for me to not bother upgrading if that's the same on all models.

We have a few at my office and they are very responsive and accurate... I'm not sure of the model though, will check and update later.

Well, I have an intuos right now which I like, but there's kind of a disconnect between your hand and eye because you're not looking right at what you're drawing, which is way easier, which is why I want the Cintiq.

There are definitely advantages to having a Cintiq. The biggest one (imo) would be the improvements in workflow. :)

So, does any one know of anywhere I could get a better deal on one? I know it costs a lot regardless but if I could get a discount of any kind anywhere that would be fabulous!

You can get a refurbished one off of Amazon. Seems like it's expensive wherever you go through. Personally I'd go with eBay, cause you'd be likely to get free shipping there. :)

I've posted this on some other thread before, but I got the huge Cintiq as a gift from my boyfriend about a year ago, and it works great. It really feels way more natural than a normal tablet, and will probably speed up your work and give you more control overall. Plus, it looks epic.

The drawbacks are it is absolutely not portable (obviously), since it weighs like 25 pounds, and it costs a shitload. You can get it for a LITTLE cheaper at certain online places but the standard retail is $2000.00 flat, and it only ever varies by $100 or so.

;) Still, I'm sure you have an extra $2000 lying around from Alice's Sewing Basket, so if you don't have more important things to spend that money on, I'd recommend the Cintiq based on personal experience!
