I was interested to see sam elliot appear in the golden compass film. Bit out of place but still the best cowboy ever.

When I read the books years ago I mentally cast them and I always had Sam Elliott as Lee Scoresby. Perfect casting.

I definitly saw Sam Elliot as well. Which immediatally reminded me of Scoresby, and the narrator from The Big Lebowski. . Great actor, great characters, great t-shirt.

the guy on the right kinda looks like Kevin Costner, a la Wyatt Earp. who was played by Kurt Russel in Tombstone. Which also starred Sam Elliott.
