I was wondering, how do I get started? Is there some type of program that the artist of this site uses. Do I draw it and use a scanner? I completely lost and any help would be appreciated.

most of the people here use either adobe photoshop or adobe illustrator. usually people draw, scan, and then use one or both of these programs
