I'm pretty sure threadmas always falls on whatever weekend in or around december is most amenable to the largest number of threadlings possible

True. So I suppose it's the call of the jewish contingency. If it helps, we have a menorah, chanukah prayer books, latkeh mix and a couple of dreidels. I can also get pretty much any requisite judaica within a short walk. :)
