So I just had "light n fit" yogurt for breakfast thinking to start my day off healthy, but it was so unsatisfying that I decided to eat some cheez-its too.

Are there healthy dieting-type foods that leave you feeling like you've had a tasty treat?

is not as tasty as

I have no self control. Anyone who was around for the greater part of my thesis project knows that.

I just had a delicious diet food with my tea, apple fritter, deep fried in butter mmmmmm

I think good veggies and fruits are a worthy diet choice, although Phil warned me of some tomato death disease sweeping the nation

I'm not on a diet.
Not really.

I'm just trying to make healthier decisions so I don't have to go on a diet.

Tomato death disease? But I love tomatoes!

When I went vegetarian I lost a bunch of weight without meaning to.

But I can't go vegetarian.

I get cranky when I don't get enough protein.

just don't eat anything with aspartame in it...it's evil evil crap that donald rumsfield (as president of the company searle) got put in our sodas and sugar free food.

just eat healthily, who cares about "diet" on the package...it's not gonna help anyone anymore than a placebo does.

my favorite thing is a lighter version of potatoes and egges. I usually get those frozen hashbrown potatoes that are 70 calories a serving... then I use 1 large whole egg for 80 calories and 1 eggwhite. I fry the potatoes in a pan using that practically no calorie olive oil spray can stuff... once the potatoes are brown add the eggs and scramble them up :P a yummy filling normal food for only 150 calories. I love it with tobasco and ketchup :)

On a semi-related note-

does soy really fuck with a man's testosterone levels?

Bananas. Corn Dogs. Cucumbers. Pickles. Carrots. Sausage.

See where I'm going with this?

Alls I know about soy is that it leaches calcium, so always take it/eat it/drink it with something high in calcium.

And teas block the absorption of iron. And other stuff. It was a long time ago when I actually dealt on the patient end of things.

"does soy really fuck with a man's testosterone levels?"

waddya mean? I actually drink silk vanilla soy milk everyday for tea and cereal. I don't feel the urge to fight people although I do still flip ppl off on the highway. Or are you talking about the opposite effect, I could see that... maybe... not

I had an ex who was a body builder and was very cautious about soy protein.

But he was also a complete prat, so it's hard to say.
Robsoul

found this, phew

Q:Does tea block the absorbtion of iron into the body?

A: Although sometimes there may be a relationship between tea drinking and reduced absorption of iron, research indicates that individuals consuming a typical Western diet are not likely to be at risk for iron deficiency anemia. Tea has no effect on iron absorption when consumed between meals, but may decrease the uptake of iron from plant foods when consumed with a meal. To offset tea's minor effect on iron absorption, foods rich in vitamin C, such as orange juice, strawberries, or tomatoes can be eaten in the same meal. Adding lemon to tea works as well.

The way I hear it, can't say it's 100% right, but carrots are high in carbs and sugar and especially eating them at night when you won't be very active you'll just be making that all turn to fat.
skeev
skeev on Jun 06 '08 at 12:30pm
carrots are the second highest sugar containing vegetable behind beets.

Tuna fish on Wheat Thins is delicious. Especially if theres green onion mixed in with the tuna.
Not sure how healthy that is though...

I like the mint pria bars as a snack. only 110 calorie snack that doesn't make me just want to go and buy 20 regular fat snacks to then eat.

rob - I worked with cancer patients. They weren't allowed tea during treatments :) So with a normal diet prolly works out fine.

Rice milk is my preferred non-dairy milk. Rice Dream enriched original is so friggen yum. Love the carob one too.

Carrots also have fiber and vitamins and nutrients that junk food does not have.

There are better, healthy choices.
