My younger brother is going to be running in the Boston marathon this year to raise money for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
The race takes place on the 21st, and so I am posting this for the last week of donations.

My brother is a musician, and specifically he is a percussionist. He is studying for his Master's at Boston University.

Our high school band teacher was a drummer, a percussionist, and really supported Matt and pushed him to realize his potential. Mr. Benedict and his wife were there for Matt whenever he needed them to go the extra mile. If my parents couldn't make it to a NYSSMA event, the Benedicts were there rooting him on.

This past year, Mrs. Benedict lost her battle with ovarian cancer and it is in her memory that my brother is running. To wax poetic, you might say it's his chance to go the extra mile in her honor.
