So I love Phil Collins and I love Genesis, and Im really sad because I just read an article that he is officially quitting music which he has said he was going to do before,but now hes not even writing songs anymore which is what he has been doing. Apparently he has some serious back issues and not to mention his hearing loss.
True story- when I lived with Aubrey anytime we went into the groceries store they were always playing a Phil Collins song and we would shout out "PHIL COLLIINSSSS!!"

I read an awesome article about him a couple months back in Rolling Stone about what you were describing, how he is kind of offended at how Oasis and others have somehow branded him "everything that was wrong with music in the 80's" I think that's bullshit, i just can't stand his Tarzan soundtrack nonsense, lol.
But he's also among the foremost speakers and collectors of Alamo-related items and history, which i kind of find fascinating. Not the alamo, that Phil Collins is obssessed with the Alamo.
So strange. As I clicked on the blog page, another day in Paradise came on. :)
Joe linked me to that article the other day. I am sad, but also really pleased that someone in his position has the presence of mind to step back and be realistic about what he has achieved and where he can go - and that he wants to enjoy life a bit without the pressure of performing.
