I'm doing a research project for my art history class about fashion, and what makes an article of clothing ART as opposed to just clothes.

I don't question the fact that designs printed on Threadless shirts are art.

But it seems that most people wouldn't think of a plain colored tee shirt as art.

So my question is, does putting that artistic design on a regular ol' tee shirt make the tee shirt itself art? Or is it just a tee shirt with art on it?

PLEASE respond, I'd like as many answers to this question as possible!! and EXPLAIN YOURSELF!!
