about What Makes It Go?

So this shirt arrived today. I'd just pulled it out of the envelope and was admiring it when my friend Peter walked by.

"Is that a giraffe?!" he exclaimed. "My friend would LOVE that!!! Where did you get it?"

I told him about Threadless. "But all the small sizes are gone," I said.

"I'll give you £20 for it."

"Wha-? No! It's a first edition AND it's sold out!"

"Sell it to me. Twenty quid, right now. C'mon, you only paid $15."

"£25 pounds and I'll think about it."

"Done!" He pulled out his wallet.

Crap.

After agonising over it (for an hour!) I went back to him.

"Take it. Just bloody take it before I change my mind."

Peter handed me the money.

And I gave him the shirt.

£25 is about $50. By selling this one shirt I made enough money to buy three more... but I still feel kinda lousy.

I really liked it.

They said that they would put any leftover stock from the store up for sale here after two weeks.

The best haggling is done under those conditions. A friend of mind got nearly a whole house worth of furniture for £100 because he didn't really want it and the guy selling it just thought he was driving a hard bargain. Looking @ your collection I think you can afford to sell one of your 46 Tees ! You have pretty much the same taste as me, how much for your entire collection while yer in the selling mood ?

I've actually got more than 46! And no, I am most definitely not in a selling mood, so you can forget it :-)

Going out is so much more fun when I get to pick out a fun shirt to wear.
