I'll be ordering shortly and don't have anyone I specifically wanted to STP, so I wondered if anyone wanted to set up a trade - I hope we are actually allowed to do this and I've not got the wrong end of the stick, but anyway. Let me know. :) First come first served I guess!
about HI
Every now and again I'll check HI to see if there are any returns in the larger kids sizes (I'm a girly small, and I want a green one...). Today is the second time there's been a single Kids 10 in stock, and while I've been waiting for the shipping page to load, somebody else has got it before me :(I want one. Come on, Threadless, PLEASE reprint it soon...I'll give you cookies...
So I have an XS and an XXS Home Is Where The Heart Is, and I'm not sure which one to keep (I was going to return one but now I have various friends who are willing to relieve me of it depending on the size I decide on). Both sort of fit me, but I can't decide whether the slightly looser fit or the tighter one is better, totally ignoring bird colour because it doesn't really bug me either way.
Please excuse the awful lighting and wholly un-glamorous background. ![]() This is the XS, after one wash and tumble dry. The size doesn't seem to have altered much, but it's hard to tell - it was sort of all-right-a-bit-loose before, and it's sort of all-right-a-bit-loose now. ![]() I thought originally this one might be too small, but there is a little bit of room. It hasn't been washed yet, though, and I'm a bit worried it might shrink more than the XS seems to have. Opinions? Which looks better? I'm normally a girly small but these are unisex fit. *gets really hung up on unimportant things like this, lol :)*
So I *finally* received my Home Is Where The Heart Is package this morning. One XS, one XXS, because I couldn't decide on size and was going to either gift/return/eBay the one that didn't fit.
As it is, I'm not quite sure. The XS is a bit unflatteringly big on me, and the XXS is really, really hard to get on, although once it's on it looks nice. But the bird colour on the XS is much nicer. Anyway, I keep hearing about how bad American Apparel shrinkage is. If I wash the XXS and it does shrink, like, at all, it won't fit me. So I tried washing the XS on a 30 degree cycle, then tumble drying it on high. I assumed it would get smaller. But it hasn't. No change. It's still the same size. I measured it before and after to check. Am I doing something wrong? The shirt's 100% cotton. Is there a better way to try and make it smaller?
Probably I'm just being paranoid here, but I'm getting a tad bit worried about one of my orders. I made an order for Home Is Where The Heart Is last month, which shipped on the 3rd of January. I also made an order for Mozart Didn't Like To Practice Either, which shipped on the 5th I think?
Mozart Didn't Like To Practice Either turned up four days after it was shipped, but there's no sign of Home Is Where The Heart Is after nine days. Is that weird or am I just getting twitchy? I know that the shipping page says it should take 1-5 weeks for international orders, but I've never heard of anyone having to wait that long in the UK (I thought three or four days was the average). Obviously it could be stuck in customs but I don't know how long that takes to process. What's the longest any of the British folk here have had to wait? And does anybody know how long customs normally takes? Thanks. Sorry for being such a worrier ;)
Hmm. I just got Mozart Never Liked To Practice Either in the post today. It's my first shirt, and I ordered a girly medium on the basis that most of my other t-shirts are about 16" across from side to side, and the size chart reckons medium=16.5".
Except now that I've got it, it's much too big, and having measured it, it's about 18" across, and makes me look like I have pas de boobies :( Has anyone else found that the size chart isn't right? Or has the shirt been marked wrongly? Based on this I should go for a small, but 15.5" is pretty tiny. Gah.
I swear *everything* I post on this site is to do with sizing, but gah. Time to settle this once and for all.
Am I a girly small or medium? 32-34" ribcage, teeny boobs, about 5'5". A US 4-6 (I think). All my t-shirts measure about 16 to 16.5 inches under the arms, so that would suggest medium, but what with the teeny boobs, and everyone who wears a medium seems to be at least a B-cup...I'm *almost* a B-cup but not quite...*agonises*... Are the shirts actually the widths they say they are on the size chart? Taking votes. Small or medium. It's a matter of life and death. Aka shopping.
Probably a stupid question, but is this printed on an American Apparel shirt or the new Threadless own-brand shirts that seem to be being phased in? I can't figure out if they're using them for the new post-sale shirts or if they haven't started printing on them yet (apart from for the I Heart Threadless tee, obviously).
Anyone know? Thanks.
Am still agonising over size (XS or XXS? Given that I'm a US size 4-6) and I know that you can't exchange because of bird colour, but if I order XS and it's much too big, can I switch it? Does anyone know? Am reeeeeally worried about this still, lol.
I emailed Threadless last week and they never got back to me :(
So I bought an XS in Home Is Where The Heart Is. Hasn't been dispatched yet and I'm wondering if I should switch it for an XXS, but I can't deciiiiiiide. I've never bought a Threadless shirt before so I can't be helpful and say what size I normally wear.
I'm in the UK, so no access to American Apparel shirts, and I can't for the life of me work out what size I'd be in America - I'm a UK 8-10 if that helps and normally wear girly small shirts, but I hear the AA sizes come up smaller? Sorry if this is really annoying. I'm agonising over whether to change the order. Thanks. |
