My shirt is refusing to shrink - how to make it?
So I *finally* received my Home Is Where The Heart Is package this morning. One XS, one XXS, because I couldn't decide on size and was going to either gift/return/eBay the one that didn't fit.

As it is, I'm not quite sure. The XS is a bit unflatteringly big on me, and the XXS is really, really hard to get on, although once it's on it looks nice. But the bird colour on the XS is much nicer.

Anyway, I keep hearing about how bad American Apparel shrinkage is. If I wash the XXS and it does shrink, like, at all, it won't fit me. So I tried washing the XS on a 30 degree cycle, then tumble drying it on high. I assumed it would get smaller.

But it hasn't. No change. It's still the same size. I measured it before and after to check.

Am I doing something wrong? The shirt's 100% cotton. Is there a better way to try and make it smaller?

that is amazing it didn't shrink at all!

it takes a few washes for my shirts to shrink. after the third, they fit fine.

I find hot water washes and tumble drying shrinks shirts well when I dont want it to.

Hmm, maybe I should have another try. I just think it's odd that there was no shrinkage whatsoever.



What is even more annoying was that I thought the package was lost in the post and ended up ordering the last XS that was in stock AS WELL as these two and that won't fit either. And I'm in the UK, so it's too expensive to return them *cries*
