I am finding it very hard to identify what the voters are looking for these days on threadless. The scores seem soooo skewed, or at least very different than what they used to be. Does cute an cuddly only score well if it is done be a certain artist? Does surreal and intricate only score well if done by so and so? I guess I'm just seeing certain artists consistently scoring very very well, regardless of what they sub. I dunno, just my 2 cents.

It's so unpredictable here, I think it's best just not trying to predict.

For the most part, I believe designs earn their score.

I blame internet cafes. Thousands of them.

SuperRyan, I dunno, I'm beginning to believe that designers earn their score, not necessarily the designs themselves. I could be wrong.

It seems that barely distinguishable watercolor figures are getting the high scores these days.

I do think that the designer has some impact on their score - due to their popularity, general status, etc. etc. - but I don't think that it is enough to sway the score significantly at all.

I think recent prints show that threadless started choosing prints not by their scores, they too probably see the problems with the scoring system nowadays.

almozline, I think you have a good point there.

There are some artists who I don't doubt get an extra kudos point just for being who they are... but for the most part I feel like theyve earned that reputation.. But I do kno what youre sayin with overrated designs.

I don't think it's fair to say that a design only earned the score because of who submitted it. I agree with Ryan when he said that the designs earn their score. If I like something, regardless of the name on the sub, I will score it accordingly. And simply because someone I know has subbed something doesn't mean I'm going to automatically give it a 4 or 5.

I think designs legitamately get their score, I just think it has alot to do with the pimping of the person (since score totals are down) as well as the fact that people are voting weirder these days.

Voting is one thing I'll never understand how it works around here!

I agree with you slaterock. There are some designers out there who get a ton of comments/or whatever just because of who they are. Either way, a majority of the votes still come from those not active on the blog forums so it's really not a problem with me.

EZ Color Models!

I just read a blog on here of someone asking about how to change the color of the tees on the Threadless Models, so I decided to creat a couple psd files that are ready to go. You can download them here. If anyone has some they would like me to add to the zip file, just let me know.

The zip file now has 4 different model pics.
