Do any of you amazing people know how long it takes for film to expire? or would it depend on the kind of film?

I bought a 5 dollar disposable camera about a year ago and I am waiting for the fil to expire, I am curious.

A, I've used expired film a couple of times (both approx. 6 years old) and I didn't notice any difference, coolness when the photos were printed out.
So, just a warning not to get your hopes up.

if the shelf was well-shaded and maintained cool or room-temperatures then you're probably fine

consumer film won't expire as quickly as like a pro film.

Chelly, I believe A wants the film not to be fine.

ah well then, if the shelf was super dusty and got a lot of sunlight and heat then you should be fine
2 days later

It was super dusty, and kindof in the sun. I Believe I will continue waiting.
