I was really hoping this design would win.
1) As far as I know it's original -- I've never seen anything like it, and 2) It's kinda weird and I lovvvve that. There were many stellar and varied designs for this contest -- I enjoyed sifting through all of them... but this one definitely stood out. YAY.
I am sooooooooo glad the Kickin' It in the 80s competition is almost over.
There are many, many amazing designs and I am excited to see who will come out on top but... I CAN'T TAKE ANY MORE TACKINESS. Seriously, the 80s came out with some awesome stuff, but the patterns, the colors: GAH. Glad we won't have to score those things for very much longer :P
I just scored every single submission in the running...
Not only do I kinda feel like a loser, now I just might be forced to write my lit paper. DAMN.
From my observation, it seems that those who are the harshest critics of designs in the running have not even submitted any designs themselves.
I'm not saying that because they don't submit designs that they don't know HOW to design or that they don't know what good design IS, I just find it slightly hypocritical. If we're all here to exchange ideas about technique, creativity, etc., why can't everyone provide constructive feedback? I mean, being mean isn't going to get anyone anywhere, right? Unless you're out to put people down to make yourself look better. If so, that's just not cool.
So my entry for the "Kickin' it in the 80s" design is oh so corny (like myself), but I don't care. HA.
I hope everyone gets it.
Two designs submitted! Waiting for approval.
Kinda disappointed with the turnout of "Paws at the Pane" -- I love the illustration though. I took the idea from a photo I took of my kitty, Cosey. I worked on "Reality TV" for much longer and I think it shows. I don't really care if they get horrible scores. I'm just glad to finally be in on the competition :)
I have three designs in the works, but I'm having trouble finding ample amounts of time to finish them.
I see all these awesome [and also not-so-awesome] designs and I can't wait to just jump into the competition. Soon, soon. |
